Why Do Holes Form in Shirts and How to Avoid Them?

It often happens that you discover small holes in your t-shirts or shirts, especially cotton ones, without understanding their origin. These holes, which generally appear on the bottom of the clothes, are the result of various factors related to wear, friction or care errors. Fortunately, it is possible to prevent them and, in some cases, repair them.

Rubbing against the belt or pants
When you wear a tucked-in T-shirt or it rubs against the belt, zipper or button of your pants, the fabric experiences repeated friction which eventually weakens it and causes holes.

Hanging clothes with clips on metal or rough wires can damage the fibers, especially if the fabric is delicate.
Wear and tear due to poor fabric quality
Some poor quality textiles deteriorate quickly, especially after several washes. Fine cotton or blends can be more vulnerable to punctures.
