San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria confirmed that while the quake was strong, no significant structural damage had been reported.
“San Diego experienced a strong earthquake centered near Julian. There’s no known visible or major damage to the city so far, and I’m in communication with local, state, and federal officials,” he stated.
Governor Gavin Newsom was briefed on the situation, with state agencies monitoring for any necessary emergency response.
