Directions
1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat.
2. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with garlic powder and dried oregano.
3. Spread the butter mixture evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
4. Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, on the skillet.
5. Layer each slice with a slice of mozzarella cheese, two slices of ham, and a few pineapple chunks.
6. Top with another slice of mozzarella cheese and the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up.
7. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
8. Remove from the skillet, let cool slightly, and then slice in half. Serve warm.
Variations & Tips
For a spicier version, add a few slices of jalapeƱo or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes. If you have picky eaters, you can omit the pineapple or substitute it with thinly sliced apples for a different kind of sweetness. For a vegetarian option, skip the ham and add more cheese or some roasted red peppers. You can also experiment with different types of bread, like whole wheat or rye, to suit your family’s preferences.
