  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For Serving:

  • Warm pita bread or flatbread
  • Tzatziki sauce or hummus
  • Sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions
  • Fresh mint or parsley for garnish

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Kafta Mixture

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef or lamb with the grated onion, minced garlic, and chopped parsley.
  2. Add the cumin, coriander, cinnamon, paprika, allspice, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  3. Drizzle in the olive oil and mix everything together using your hands until well incorporated.
  4. Cover and refrigerate the mixture for 20-30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
