Amaryllis Care and Materials:
1. Soil and Watering: Use fast-draining, medium-weight soil. Add sand if necessary to support mature plants. Water only when the soil is dry. Place the plant in a sunny, well-drained area.
2. Soil Preparation: Amaryllis prefers direct to partial sunlight and well-drained soil with a pH between 6.0 and 6.8. If the soil is sandy, add rotted compost.
3.
Bulb Selection: Large bulbs bloom earlier. Small bulbs take longer. They can be grown both indoors and in the garden.
4. Blooming Time: Amaryllis blooms between March and June. Keep the first 5 cm layer of soil moist, but not waterlogged.
5. Fertilization: Apply a controlled-release organic fertilizer in the fall, after flowering and before leaf growth.
