Get your onion ready: Remove the outer layer and cut it into uniform pieces, like rings, half-moons, or chunks, according to your liking and how you will use them.

Microwave Trick: Put the onion pieces in a dish that can be used in the microwave. Put a lid or microwave-safe cover on the dish. This step is very important because it helps cook the onions with steam, making them soft and moist.

Cook the onions in the microwave on high for around 2 minutes. The time needed may change a bit depending on how powerful your microwave is and how many onions you are cooking.

After two minutes, carefully take out the dish from the microwave (the steam can be hot!) and reveal perfectly cooked onions.
