Perfect for tomatoes and peppers: Sprinkle 1 tbsp around each plant monthly for better growth and fruiting. 🍅🌶

3. ☕ Coffee Grounds to Enrich the Soil

Used coffee grounds add nitrogen to soil and improve texture. They’re also a natural pest deterrent.

How to use:

  • Sprinkle around the base of plants or mix into compost.

  • Create a barrier around tender plants to repel slugs and snails.

🚫 Use in moderation—too much can make the soil too acidic.

4. 🥚 Eggshells as Natural Fertilizer & Pest Control

Eggshells provide calcium, which strengthens plant cells and reduces problems like blossom-end rot in tomatoes.

How to use:

  • Rinse, dry, and crush shells.

  • Sprinkle around plant bases or mix into the soil.

🔪 The sharp edges also deter slugs and snails!

5. 🌾 Vinegar for Weed Control

White vinegar’s acetic acid kills weeds naturally—no chemicals needed.

How to use:

  • Spray pure vinegar directly on weed leaves (avoid flowers & veggies).

For stubborn weeds:

  • Mix 1 gallon vinegar + 1 cup salt + 1 tbsp dish soap and spray directly on problem areas.

6. 🌹 Banana Peels to Feed Roses

Banana peels are full of potassium, vital for strong stems and colorful blooms.

How to use:

  • Chop and bury peels at the base of rose bushes.

Or make banana peel tea:

  • Soak chopped peels in water for 2–3 days, then water your plants with it.

7. 🐛 Dish Soap as a Natural Insecticide

Great for soft-bodied bugs like aphids, mites, and whiteflies.

How to use:

  • Mix 1 tbsp mild dish soap with 1 quart water.

  • Spray directly on pests (test on a small area first).

⚠️ Avoid soaps with degreasers or bleach.

8. 🍂 Cinnamon to Prevent Fungal Diseases

Cinnamon is a natural antifungal and helps prevent damping-off in seedlings.

How to use:

  • Dust cinnamon on soil or affected plant areas.

Also effective against ants—just sprinkle a cinnamon line around your garden beds.
