Other important things to know about egg storage: Besides where you store them, other factors can affect their freshness. Avoid storing them near aromatic products like cheese or strong-smelling ready meals, as eggs easily absorb ambient odors. Also, make sure to store your eggs in an airtight container to prevent external contamination. Also, avoid washing them before refrigerating them, as this can remove the shell’s natural protective layer.

Egg Freshness Test Finally, to check the freshness of your eggs, a simple flotation test can be performed. Fill a bowl with water and carefully place an egg in it. If it sinks to the bottom of the bowl, it is fresh and ready to eat. If it floats in the middle of the bowl, it is still edible but is slowly losing its freshness. On the other hand, if the egg floats on the surface of the water, it is probably spoiled and should be thrown away. By following these simple yet effective tips, you can prolong the freshness of your eggs and fully enjoy their flavor and goodness in your favorite dishes. Happy storing!
