Bananas are a household favorite — versatile, sweet, and loaded with nutrients. But they have one big flaw: they ripen and spoil way too fast. That got me thinking… what would happen if I vacuum-sealed bananas to preserve their freshness?
So, I put it to the test. The results? Unexpected and super insightful! Whether you’re meal prepping, reducing waste, or just curious, here’s what I discovered.
🧪 The Experiment Setup:
I used three groups of bananas:
-
One bunch left at room temperature (the control group)
-
One bunch stored in the fridge
-
One bunch vacuum-sealed in a food-safe bag, then refrigerated
Each was observed over the course of 7 days.
🍌 Day-by-Day Breakdown:
🟡 Day 1–2:
All bananas looked normal. No visible change. The vacuum-sealed ones looked a bit more “compressed,” but otherwise fine.
🟠 Day 3–4:
