Delicious Potato Gratin Recipe

Potato gratin is a classic, elegant side dish that’s rich, creamy, and full of flavor. Thinly sliced potatoes are layered with cheese and a savory cream mixture, then baked to golden perfection. INGREDIENTS
2 pounds russet or Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced (about 1/8 inch thick)
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 cups shredded Gruyere cheese (or a mix of Gruyere and Parmesan)
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
Fresh thyme leaves (optional, for garnish)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Prepare the Oven and Baking Dish:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or a similar-sized gratin dish with butter.
